Let me start off by saying I am thrilled when authors ask for reviews. I was excited to read something by a new author in exchange for a review. I am a completely honest person and very opinionated so here it goes.
This is a fast paced book, and at first it bounced around a bit, but as you read the rest of the story it became better. There are a few things I didn't like and they are listed below...for me to list them means they really just bothered me. There is a strong connection between Nathan and Eva just from the first sight. Once they realize they will be working together the emotions are everywhere. Now, this storyline is a good one, I get the main idea, but the wording makes me think they are from older times lol. At first I absolutely didn't want to finish, but I'm glad I did, and honestly I don't like the ending, mainly because I want to know if they work through their problems and such. Eva has a past of difficulty with guys because of one ex beating her, and with Nathan's violence in the ring it makes it hard on her, but when he protects her and the way she acted really is kind of immature because she should have looked at the bigger picture. But over all I rate this a 3 star book. If you can over look the things listed below its a good read.
First: grammatical errors, punctuation errors and just over all lack of synonyms...please, you don't need to repeat words constantly, I mean we learned this in high school.
Second: it bounced around, like really, it went so fast and in different directions considering this is a dual POV I can over look some, but not all.
Now for some introductions:
Nathan is a boxer by night and an IT guy by day (nothing wrong with that), what is wrong is he is just an immature prick. He is a player but that changes when he meets Eva, but still immature in not coming forth with certain things. I don't like to give spoilers so you would have to read to find out.
And when I say about some of these errors and synonym issues I will give examples:
Instead of saying he goes out looking for pussy, it says in the book, that he goes out looking for 'a pussy' which really just puts me in mind of a fucking cat.
Or one even better: this is like the first two pages if I remember correctly, he slides his left hand and pulls down her right strap, exposes her right breast and sucks her right nipple...ok we get the sense of direction the first time it's mentioned.
Oh and one more, who calls their cell a 'mobile' I mean seriously!!!
On to Eva:
She is in college, wants to run (as a sport), her mother wants her to graduate and then work in the company. Which she hates the thought of. An injury is putting a threat on a race that could cost her a scholarship, but Nathan helps her with that by training techniques.
Not much to say for her other than her best friend/roommate calls her sweetheart and baby doll and sugar all the time...ok last time I checked girls don't do that to each other unless they swing that way. And when I say that I mean like every time they refer to each other. But I do say that in a way other than what I previously mentioned is Chloe, her best friend, clearly cares about her like a sister.
I would recommend this book as one to read on rainy or snowy days when you don't want to do anything else or maybe when your on vacation.
