Eleanor & Park by Rainbow Rowell

This book is nothing like the books I normally read but I loved it. It appeals to my nerdy side with my love of comics( I am a Batman girl lol) and music. Park and Eleanor are in high school and meet when the only available spot on the bus is by Park. Park is not really a nerd or a cool kid so no one bothers him. Eleanor is the new girl that dresses funny and is a little different than the other kids

Eleanor has a bad home life and has no friends when the story starts out. After Park notices that Eleanor is reading his comics he starts to bring her some and he makes her a mixed tape of some bands she said she wanted to hear. Eleanor and Park start to form a friendship which is what Eleanor needed. After a while the friendship turns into more and they start to date. After some bad stuff goes down Eleanor has to move.

I liked this book but it has the WORST ending. Overall I would give this book a 3 out of 5 stars. It is a story about young love and how sometimes you meet your soul mate at a young age. The lesson you learned from this book is that you don't know what someone is going through and you shouldn't judge someone before you get to know them.

Embrace ( Evolve Series book 2) by S.E. Hall

  This is just as good if not better than the first book Emerge. Layne has left Evan heartbroken and all alone at a new college ( or so he thinks). Sawyer takes him in and tries to helps him. Evan is slowly becoming part of the group and starting to hang with Layne. Evan starts to hang out with Whitley who is not the person we thought she was from the first book.

  This book is not a sad book like I thought it was going to be, it is about Evan trying to move on and still being friends with Layne. There are many hilarious parts to this book. I think my favorite one was when Evan and Whitley got high and went to get tattoos. Evan starts to have feelings for Whitley but he is scared to do anything about them because of what happened with Layne. In the end Evan and Whitley get their shit together.

 

 I love this series because it shows you that sometimes you think you have found your soul mate but that may not be the case. Everyone is in your life for a reason. I can't wait to start Entangled to get more of Dane and Laney!! This is another 5 start read!

Emerge by S.E. Hall

I don't know why it took me this long to read this book because it is great! I give this book 5 stars! Laney is a total tomboy which I can relate to. She loves to fish and play sports. Evan has been her best friend since they were 10 and her dad brought him fishing with them.

Their senior year Evan makes his move to make Laney his. They start to date but both get into different colleges. Laney decides they should go back to just being friends. When she gets to college she meets a group of guys that she just clicks with. Dane is in the group. Him and Laney have a connection right off the bat. Laney is one lucky girl because Dane is damn near perfect (I am kinda jealous of her lol).

  In the end I know she loved both guys but she was not "in" love with Evan. Dane is her other half and in the end she goes with her heart. This book is so good and I can't wait to start the next book Embrace
