In the first book Jessica was having a hard time finding her place in TX since she moved from LA. Things were difficult at first, she missed her friends but made new ones...including Adam, William's best friend. Adam treats Jessica like a sister, at first he did like her, but she only had eyes for William.
Things are going great for Jessica in this book, her job is prospering, she and William are together....she just misses her girls and also needs to find a way to make William's mom like her, since she isn't from money and that is all this small town knows. But she handles her own.
Finally William suggests to Gladis that Jessica needs her friends and they show up unexpectedly. These girls are crazy! Lump decides she will stay with Jessica in TX and find a job, etc. Adam knows exactly how to push her buttons. And with Lump knowing martial arts she lays it into Adam, but I believe there is a spark somewhere underneath all that pain in both of them.
When I say this has cowboys in it, there are some cowboys, yes, they come from money, but these are real men who work on their ranches, and William breeds bulls! Both Jessica and Lump manage to ride a small steer.
I found myself laughing at so many things in this book along with crying too. It's a great read. And I give it 4 stars. From the first book to this one, Jessica blossoms. I can't wait to read the third!
