Shattered Hearts (Shattered #1) by Octavia Wildwood

Shattered Hearts (Shattered #1) by Octavia WildwoodShattered Hearts (Shattered #1)

The nightmares never stop.

Amanda Laurent escaped from an abusive relationship but nightmares haunt her, she thought by moving to LA from Santa Barbara would be enough, but she had to hide in the background.

"I liked to be nothing more than an insignificant part of the background, plain and unmemorable. It was safer that way. Getting noticed can lead to trouble."

So she decided to start over again...taking a leap of faith she moves to Minnesota, because who would think that she would be there? She took and applied for an ad online to help out at a family farm, little did she know how much she would be helping.

Nate and Maggie lost their parents in a horrible car accident. Maggie hired Amanda to help out and since the wage is so low, they are giving her a room to live in. To Amanda it couldn't be better. Nate is the older brother who insists on doing everything himself since his parents died. He doesn't think they need help, but quickly changes his mind.

Amanda quickly becomes helpful with Penny, a wild horse that Nate and Maggie's mother rescued. Penny was mistreated by her previous owner when he realized he couldn't tame her. Amanda had something about her that she could relate to Penny since they were both abused, which helped gain the horses trust.

I think the funniest part in this book is when Amanda first arrives on the farm and she goes to take Nate some sandwiches but finds him swimming completely naked...Goodness...I will let you have your imagination with a strong hot and tanned rancher!

There is a real attraction between Nate and Amanda, but with Nate's hardheadedness and Amanda's abusive past they clash pretty hard, that is until Nate overhears Amanda talking to Penny in the middle of the night about her past...

And that is pretty much where this book ends, this one is FREE!! So grab it while you can, the next book in the series is called Shattered Dreams. This is a 4 star book, it is a quick read, and is very well written.

  1. Do you happen to know where I can buy shattered dreams? Because I can not find it anywhere.
